Mainland Returns to Defend Title

Daytona’s Mainland High School will be returning to TCBI to defend their title. The Bucs, will be led by Senior Guards, Jordan Sears and Taron Keith. This dynamic duo were also selected as Co-MOPs in last years tourney.

Last season, the Bucs finished an extraordinary 17-2 and made it to the FHSAA Class 7A Sweet 16.

Head Coach Joe Giddens enters his third season as head coach for the program he won two state championships with as a player.

ALUMNI HIGHLIGHTS

Besides the four State Championship banners hanging in the gym at MHS, their most notable Alumni on the court is Vince Carter, who is still active in the NBA (Atlanta Hawks) and still insane with his dunks even at 42-yrs-old as the oldest active player in the League. 

Other notables include: Tim Pickett. Tony Bobbit, and Mike Polite.
